For Australian businesses on Xero

Your suppliers put their prices up. Here's by how much.

Billflation reads your Xero bills, matches the same items a year apart, and shows you one number: what this year's price rises cost you. Every rise comes with the two bills that prove it.

Same things, this year vs last

Example

$4,120 a year more

than last year, for the same things (+11.3%)

  • Twin & earth cable 2.5mm

    Electrical wholesaler · +14%

    +$662/yr

  • Chicken breast fillet 5kg

    Food wholesaler · +12%

    +$551/yr

  • Monthly support plan

    IT support · +10%

    +$540/yr

  • Free range eggs, 15 dozen

    Food wholesaler · −6%

    −$236/yr

Cable: based on bill SPK-2214 (Oct 2025, $189.00) and bill SPK-2371 (Sep 2026, $215.46)

It's not one big rise.

It's a few percent here, a new surcharge there, spread across a dozen suppliers.

Your accounts don't show it.

Xero tells you what you spent, not what the same things cost a year ago.

Nobody has time to check.

Comparing hundreds of bills line by line isn't a job anyone gets to.

How it works

A minute from connecting to knowing

No spreadsheets, no setup, no changing how you use Xero.

  1. 1

    Connect Xero

Sign in to Xero and pick the organisation. Billflation gets read-only access: it can look, never change.

  2. 2

    We match your bills

The same item, from the same supplier, a year apart. Dates, reference numbers and pack-size traps are handled for you.

  3. 3

See the number, and the proof

One figure for what the rises cost you a year, with the two bills behind every row. Usually in under a minute.

What you'll see

The number, the proof, and what to do next

One number

What this year's price rises cost you a year, across everything you buy again and again.

Proof on every row

Each rise names the two bills it came from, with dates and prices, so you can check it in Xero.

Good news too

Prices that dropped are shown and taken off the total. Nothing is rigged to look worse.

Price, volume or exchange rate?

For each supplier: how much of the extra spend is higher prices, buying more, or a weaker dollar.

Questions

Good questions to ask

Is it safe to connect Xero?

Billflation asks Xero for read-only access. It can look at your bills, credit notes, supplier names and organisation settings, and it cannot create, change or delete anything in Xero. You can disconnect from Billflation's settings, or from Xero, at any time.

What does Billflation read?

Supplier bills and credit notes from the last 25 months, the names of the suppliers on them, and your organisation's name and currency. It doesn't read your bank accounts, payroll, or the invoices you send to customers.

How does it know it's the same item?

It matches item codes first, then descriptions with dates and reference numbers stripped out, and only ever within one supplier. Close matches are marked and left out of the headline number, and you can remove any match with one click. It would rather miss a rise than invent one.

How is the number worked out?

For each item, Billflation takes the typical price you paid at the start of the last 13 months and the typical price now, and multiplies the difference by how many you bought in the last 12 months. Usage-based bills like electricity, and jumps that look like a new pack size, are shown separately and not counted.

Do you use AI on my bills?

No. Matching is rule-based and every result can be traced to two of your bills. No bill data is sent to any AI provider, and Xero's terms don't allow its data to be used to train AI models anyway.

Where is my data kept, and for how long?

In Australia, on Microsoft Azure's Sydney region. Your results are kept while you use Billflation. Disconnecting deletes your bill data straight away and everything else within 30 days, and you can delete it all yourself at any time.

What does it cost?

The first scan is free: the headline number and the top rows in each list, no card needed. The paid plan is A$19 a month including GST, with no lock-in, and adds every row, ongoing monitoring, alerts and renegotiation email drafts.

Will you contact my suppliers?

Never. The paid plan drafts a polite email with your supplier's own numbers in it, and you decide whether to send it, from your own email.

It takes about a minute, and the first scan is free.
